Introduction

Nestled within the increasingly dense urban landscape Arden Anglican School faced the challenge of expanding its facilities while working within a constrained site.

To meet the evolving needs of its Years 7–12 students, the school engaged Stanton Dahl Architects to develop a masterplan that would guide a staged redevelopment, delivering modern, high-quality learning spaces while enhancing the school’s street presence and community identity.

The transformation began with Stage 1, which laid the groundwork for future expansion through the construction of a new amenities block and an outdoor playing court, providing much-needed recreational space for students.

Building on this foundation, Stage 2 introduced a major multi-storey facility, designed to maximise every available square metre while fostering a connected, vibrant learning environment. This new structure redefines the school’s entry experience, creating a welcoming and contemporary frontage that strengthens Arden’s presence within the Epping community.
