Introduction

Designed to support both independence and care, this redevelopment ensures that residents can continue to live with dignity, comfort, and connection, in a setting that feels like home.

The Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care facility at Kings Langley has been a cornerstone of residential aged care since its establishment in the mid-1900s. Over the years, it has evolved to accommodate a range of care needs, from dementia-specific support and residential aged care to independent living units (ILUs).

Description

The latest redevelopment introduces a well-balanced mix of single, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom ILUs, designed to reflect the character of a low-density village. Each home is thoughtfully planned to provide a sense of familiarity and comfort, featuring a welcoming front porch and a private rear patio. Generous spatial allowances enable ‘ageing in place’, ensuring that residents can receive higher levels of care within their homes if needed. With a residential aged care facility (RACF) on-site, ageing partners can remain close to one another, even as their care needs change.

The central Village Green serves as the heart of the community, offering piazzas, a gazebo, an aviary, vegetable gardens, and a tranquil pond with a stream. A continuous, connected pathway encourages outdoor movement and social interaction, reinforcing the importance of community and well-being for seniors.
