Introduction

St Lucy’s School has long been a nurturing and specialised environment for K–6 students with intellectual disabilities.

To ensure that its facilities continue to meet the needs of students, staff, and families, St Lucy’s engaged Stanton Dahl Architects to develop and deliver a staged masterplan that would transform the campus into a safe, agile, and well-equipped learning environment.

The masterplan reimagines the entire school, focusing on modernising learning spaces while respecting the site’s heritage and conservation constraints. Every aspect of the design prioritises accessibility, adaptability, and student wellbeing, creating purpose-built spaces that support both educational development and individual care.

Inclusive education

The transformation of St Lucy’s School represents a significant investment in the future of inclusive education, ensuring that students have access to safe, innovative, and supportive learning spaces that empower them to thrive.

“We have appreciated your strong commitment to the project, your willingness to listen and take on board the specific requirements of students with disabilities in the design and associated building works.
