Marian Catholic College has taken a significant step forward in shaping its future with the completion of a new Creative and Performing Arts and General Learning building

With a vision to provide modern, purpose-built facilities, this transformative project enhances both academic and artistic pursuits, ensuring that students have access to contemporary learning environments that inspire creativity, collaboration, and excellence.

Designed as a three-storey concrete and steel structure, the new building establishes a prominent presence at the entrance of the College, forming a welcoming entry portal through a wide processional stair that seamlessly connects students, staff, and visitors to the heart of the campus.

Description

At the public-facing lower ground level, two large general learning spaces and adjacent breakout areas have been created to support contemporary teaching and collaborative learning methods. These flexible spaces are designed to accommodate a variety of learning styles, ensuring that students can engage, explore, and grow in an adaptable academic setting.

A key driver behind the redevelopment was the desire to elevate the visibility of the performing arts within the College. The new dance and drama space, located on the ground level, opens onto a refurbished courtyard, establishing an engaging and dynamic environment for artistic expression. The adjacent foyer spaces, beyond serving as circulation areas, have been thoughtfully designed to support a range of activities—from individual learning supportto music recitals and student exhibitions, fostering a culture of artistic and academic celebration.
