30 York Street, Point Frederick Social Housing

Schedule: 52 weeks
Project value: $2.25 million
Project period: Dec 2013 – Dec 2014
Completion date: Dec 2014

Stanton Dahl worked with Family and Community Housing NSW to develop a 3 storey apartment block, comprises 15 units that would provide high quality affordable housing. The apartments meet the requirements of the client and their residents and are designed to be universally accessible. This enables tenants with disabilities to occupy any of the apartments, with an aim to offer equal access to this community focused development.

The site is narrow, and located on York Street along the Central Coast highway; a busy thoroughfare leading to Gosford. The design responds to these site constraints by using a cleverly angled façade to achieve good solar access while maintaining privacy for the building’s residents and neighbours.

The Point Frederick project used contextual site parameters to develop a distinctive and contemporary architectural solution that creates a high quality residential contribution to this busy area. This building characterises Stanton Dahl’s commitment to providing high quality design outcomes for specialist and community based residential facilities.
